Emma Olson, 95, of Warren, MN, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 4, 2008 at the Good Samaritan Center in Warren. Emma Alethea Sundby was born on Feb. 18, 1913 at Lisbon, ND, the daughter of William and Mary (Kvale) Sundby. She spent her early years in the Lisbon area where she attended country school. On June 20, 1931, she married Gordon Olson in Warren. They made their home in rural Warren. In 1938, they moved to Grygla, MN and in 1941 they moved to Viking, MN. They farmed and had dairy cattle. Emma and Gordon moved to the Landmark Center in Warren in 1986. Gordon died on Aug. 23, 1988.
She was a former member of McCrea Lutheran Church and presently a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. Emma was also a member of the Senior Citizen Clubs in Karlstad, Kennedy, Stephen and Warren.
Left to mourn her passing are daughter, Mary (Larry) Laymon of Warren, MN; three sons, Richard (Roela) Olson and David (Jeannette) Olson all of Fairbanks, AK and Ronald (Esther) Olson of Columbia Falls, MT, eleven grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren, sister-in-law, Marion Sundby of Bayonne, NJ and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three great-grandchildren, five sisters, Alma, Anna, Mabel, Lucille and Phyllis and brother, Marvin.
