Vernon Olson, 73, rural Newfolden, died Tuesday, Jan. 26, 1993, at his home.
Vernon Harry Olson was born July 2, 1919, the son of Herbert and Julia Olson, near Newfolden where he went to school. He served in the U.S. Army from June 28. 1941, to Sept. 30, 1945, and received the Bronze Star. He married Lillie Moen Nov. 3, 1945, in Newfolden. He worked for Newfolden School District for 12 years as a bus driver, worked for Arctic Enterprises for five years, farmed, and also worked as a carpenter.
Survivors are his wife; son, Charles, Lyle, and Bradley, all of Newfolden; four grandsons; and two granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Lester.
Services: 2 p.m. Friday in Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Newfolden.
Visitation: 1 to 9 p.m. today, with an 8 p.m. prayer service, in Green Funeral Home, Thief River Falls, and one hour before services in the church.
