Mrs. H.H. Peterson Dies
at Home Northeast of
City Tuesday Night

Mrs. Hans H. Peterson passed
away Tuesday night at her home
northeast of this city. She was born
in Solor, Norway on November 30,
1860, and lived to be 80 years, sev-
en months, and eight days old. Her
parents came to this country when
she was eight years old, a trip
which took nine weeks on the
ocean. They came as far as Decor-
ah, Ia. which was the nearest rail-
road point at that time. They then
travelled with oxen to Freeborn
County, Minn., where her father
filed on a homestead. He was one
of the first settlers there. She stay-
ed there a number of years and
then went to Larimore, N.D.,
where she worked as a dressmak-
ed[sic]. She was married there to Hans
H. Peterson and they moved to
Germantown, Minn., in 1897. In
1905 they moved to Agder Twp.
They lived in Thief River Falls
from 1920 until 1934 when they
moved back to their farm where
she lived until her death. She was
totally blind the last nine years of
her life, but was otherwise in ex-
cellent health up until two months
before her death. Two brothers and
two sisters have preceded her in
death.
