Violet Delores Haugen was born on Aug. 28, 1930 in Warren, the daughter of Albert and Lena (Olson) Haugen. She was raised in Warren where she attended the Warren Public Schools. Violet also attended Aaker’s Business College in Grand Forks, ND. She married Julian Pokrzywinski on Dec. 1, 1947 in Oslo, MN. They made their home in Warren. Violet worked at Arctic Cat and the Good Samaritan Center. She married Devaugn Peterson in 1974 and he died shortly after. In 1981, she moved to the Landmark Center.
She was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Warren, MN.
Violet enjoyed visiting, reading and cooking for her grandkids.
Violet Peterson, 75, Warren, MN, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 15, 2006 at the Good Samaritan Center in Warren.
Left to mourn his passing are her two children; Jerry (Kathy) Pokrzywinski and Jean (Glen) Sizemore all of Augusta, GA, four grandchildren; Jason (Jennifer) Potucek, Jacquelyn (fiancée, Paul Williams) Potucek, Jesse Pokrzywinski and Jill (Donald) McVean, nine great-grandchildren, two sisters; Shirley (Delwyn) Olson of Andover, MN and Gladys Smart of Crystal Lake, IL, brother, Orville (Beverly) Haugen of Grand Forks, ND and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Jimmy Don Pokrzywinski and sister, Amy Hirst.
