Jerome ” Jerry” Quanrud, 86, of Warren, MN, passed away early Monday morning, November 4, 2013 at the Stadter Center in Grand Forks, ND.
Jerome Russell Quanrud was born on September 29, 1927 in Buxton, ND, the son of Rudolph and Jennie (Anderson) Quanrud. He graduated from Warren High School in 1945. Jerry was in the US Airborne from 1945 – 1947. He attended the Dunwoody School of Painting and Decorating and he went to work for Swanson and Youngdale. In 1954, he married Carol Elizabeth Larson. They made their home in Warren where he farmed and also worked along side his father, Rudy Quanrud and Charles DuBore at Quanrud Funeral Home. Carol died on February 26, 1983.
He was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church and Warren American Legion Post #27. He was a former member of the Warren Volunteer Ambulance. Jerry also served on the Warren City Council for several years.
Jerry was an avid golfer who enjoyed fishing, bowling and deer hunting.
Left to mourn his passing are four children, Jane Quanrud Hemsteter and Robert, Paul and David Quanrud; eleven grandchildren, sister, Shelley Fultz and dear friend, Eileen Baird.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brother, Thilman Quanrud; sister, Sandra Quanrud and sister-in-law, Verna Quanrud.
