Elof Rand, of Grand Forks died Monday, June 16 at the Fosston Hospital.
Funeral services were held Thursday, June 19 at 7p.m. at the Stennes Funeral Home in East Grand Forks. Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. Friday at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Karlstad.
Elof Rand was born November 29, 1915 near Karlstad the son of Edwin and Anna (Koland) Rand. He was educated in schools in the Karlstad area. In 1941, he was drafted into the United States Army and served four years in Europe, Sicily, the Netherlands and Austria.
He worked in farming, did shingling for Greenberg Roofing and Skinner Roofing, and for the last 30 years worked in potato farming.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Netty, Bertha and Josephine; and three brothers, Albin, Conrad and Hjalmer.
