Ella D. Ranum, 80 died Sunday, November 17, 2002 at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls, MN.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Wednesday, November 20, 2002 at Zion Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls, MN with Rev. Gary Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Rindal Cemetery, near Rosewood, Minnesota.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Tuesday, November 19, 2002 with a 6:30 prayer service at Johnson-Green Funeral Home. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to services Wednesday at the church.
Ella Deloris Lundberg was born on March 24, 1922 to Philip and Clara (Olson) Lundberg in Thief River Falls, MN. She grew up and attended school in Thief River Falls. She married Stanley K. Ranum on February 10, 1940 in Thief River Falls.
Ella enjoyed yard work, reading, crocheting, needlepoint, and traveling. She spent winters in the south and enjoyed their cottage in Minnesota on Island Lake in the summer. She was active in AA and Al-Anon, where she shared her philosophy, “Give me good sense and sufficient wisdom that I may speak where it is appropriate and hold my tongue where it is not.” She was also a Girl Scout leader and a member of Zion Lutheran Church.
She is survived by daughter Elodee (Tom) Johnson of Fargo, ND; grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Ella was preceded in death by her husband Stanley, and one son Greg on Feb. 14, 2002.
