Elmer Rasmussen, 68, Middle River, died Saturday, April 1, 1989, in The United Hospital, Grand Forks.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in First Lutheran Church, Middle River. Visitation will be after 5 p.m. today in Collins Funeral Home, Middle River, and one hour before services in the church.
Elmer Rasmussen was born Aug. 24, 1920, near Middle River, the son of Oscar and Ida Rasmussen. He grew up and attended schools there, and on Nov. 5, 1951 married Clarice Rud near Middle River. They farmed in Cedar Township, Marshall County near Middle River until they retired in 1976.
Survivors are his wife; sons, Elmer Jr., Crystal, N.D., Laurel, Grafton, N.D., and Duane, Hoople, N.D.; daughters, Cheryl (Mrs. Elvin) Heddan, Warroad, Minn., Connie (Mrs. Curtis) Plante, Oklee, Minn.; nine grandchildren; brothers, Walter, Henry and John, all of Middle River; sisters, Elsie Knutson, Ellen Hemp, Bertha Nelson, and Elvina Kolden, all of Middle River; several nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by sisters, Sena and Anna; and brothers, Fred and Clarence.
