Joan M. Rogus, 100, of the Stephen, MN and Strandquist, MN communities, passed away on Wednesday afternoon, July 30, 2014 at the Villa St. Vincent in Crookston, MN.
Joan Marie Kuznia was born on March 17, 1914 in Wanger Township, Marshall County, MN, the daughter of Paul and Mary (Woricik) Kuznia. She was raised in the Florian, MN area where she attended country school. On June 30, 1936, Joan was united in marriage to Edward Rogus. They made their home in rural Strandquist where they farmed. Edward died in 1981. In the early 1990’s, Joan moved to Stephen. Joan has lived the last several years at the Villa St. Vincent in Crookston.
She was an active member of Assumption Catholic Church and where she was past president of the Rosary Sodality.
Joan was a very social woman who enjoyed cooking.
Left to mourn her passing are three children, Rudolph Rogus of Strandquist, MN, Theresa (George) Cochran of Fort Collins, CO and Thomas (Venita) Rogus of Strandquist, MN; twelve grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter-in-law, Alice Rogus; brothers, John Kuznia, Thomas Kuznia, Ben Kuznia; sister, Constance Zakrzewski.
