Adeline Roppe, 83, died Tuesday, January 17, 2006 at CNC Unit of Northwest Medical Center, Thief River Falls.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, January 21, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Newfolden, with Rev. Nancy Hanson and Rev. Raynard Huglen officiating. Casket bearers included Adeline’s grandchildren. Interment was held at Opdahl Cemetery in Newfolden.
Adeline Hazel Lee was born February 4, 1922 to Alfred and Lilly (Blinsmon) Lee in Newfolden. She was baptized on May 12, 1922 in Newfolden, and confirmed at the Bethlehem Lutheran Free Church in Newfolden, on September 13, 1936. Adeline attended school in Newfolden.
Adeline was united in marriage to Bert Roppe on April 8, 1939 in Newfolden by Pastor Thorvald Myhrer at his home. Adeline worked several jobs over the years including an assistant cook at the Newfolden School, cleaning at the Marshall County State Bank, and various cleaning jobs in the Newfolden area.
Adeline enjoyed embroidery, flower gardening, car rides, and visiting her grandchildren. She was a kind, caring, loving person who enjoyed making people feel welcome. She enjoyed every Christmas Eve with Sherry and Chuck and then off to the Iron Range to be with their families. Adeline had enjoyed living at Valley Home for three years before moving to CNC in 2005.
Adeline is survived by three children, Gale (Joyce) Roppe of Eveleth, Larry (Linda) Roppe of Iron, Sherry (Chuck) Olson of Newfolden; and daughter-in-law, Olga Roppe of Mountain Iron; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two brothers-in-law, Roy (Laura) Roppe of Newfolden and Erwin Roppe of Washington state; two sisters-in-law, Joan Roppe of Newfolden and Lorraine Roppe of Fargo, N.D.; and several nieces and nephews.
Adeline was preceded in death by her parents; husband Bert; son Allen; sister Judith Johnson; infant son; two nieces and 1 nephew.
