Mrs. Marie Sandberg died at the Guy Anderson home Sunday, after a lingering illness brought about by old age. She was 96 years, 10 months and 4 days at the time of her death.
Mrs. Marie Sandberg was born at Varmland, Sweden, Nov. 17, 1833. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jens Person. Her early years were spent in Sweden, she being both baptized and confirmed in Ostermark and finally married to Jens Sandberg in the year 1853. After 34 years of married life, the family emigrated from Norway and arrived in this country in June 1887. They came directly to Holt township, which was her home until death.
Mrs. Sandberg leaves four children to mourn her loss. They are: Mrs. Christine Ellefson of Holt, Mrs. Mathilda Crowley of St. Paul, Mrs. Marie Heerin of Milwaukee, and Mrs. Ingeborg Person of Mora, Sweden. We are also sure that Mr. and Mrs. Guy Anderson will cherish a memory of the one whom they have so faithfully taken care of and watched over and whom they had learned to love.
Funeral services were held from the home Wednesday, Rev. L.M. Redal officiating.
