Clarence Doc Sather, 77, Oslo, died Friday, May 17, 2002, in Abbott-Northwestern Heart Hospital, Minneapolis.
Clarence Leroy Sather was born May 24, 1925, the son of Albin and Sophie (Avedem) Sather, in Bigwoods Township, Marshall County, Minn. He was a lifelong resident of the Oslo area. He joined the U.S. Army from Dec. 9, 1949, to May 19, 1953. He returned to Bigwoods Township to farm with his brother Norman, until 1988, when he retired.
He married Joyce (Eftefield) Solberg on Nov. 8, 1958, in Stephen, Minn. In 2001, they moved to Oslo. He was treasurer of Bigwoods Township for 38 years.
He is survived by his wife; sons, Mike (Cathy), Oslo, and Richard (Moira), Bismarck; a daughter, Jean (Harold) Weivoda, Grand Forks; five grandchildren; a brother, Norman, Oslo; and sisters, Norma (Jack) Burris, Collierville, Tenn., and Echo (Leeward) Lofthus, Oslo.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Lowell.
