Arlene Laureen Shelhon, 65, Duluth, passed away peacefully Jan. 23, 2008 at St. Marys Medical Center with her daughter by her side. She was born Dec. 31, 1942 to Arthur and Allie Waldron in New Solum Township, Minn.
Arlene was an Aurora High School graduate and lived in Minneapolis briefly and in Two Harbors before moving to Duluth. In Duluth, she was employed by the U.S. government at the EPA Laboratory for 23 years. She enjoyed cooking, history, genealogy and reading. Her bubbly and positive personality will be missed by her family and friends.
Arlene is preceded in death by her parents and son Kevin. She is survived by her daughter, Renee Shelhon-Dennis, Seward, Alaska; granddaughter, Jesilee Dennis of Two Harbors; sisters, Dianne (Richard) Jensen, Hibbing; Mary (Mike) Voelker, Iron, Minn., Rosie Oakley, Red Deer, Alberta, Canada and Shirley (Mark) Tanem, Hibbing; brothers, Larry (Luann) Waldron, Tucson, Ariz., Dennis (Jessica) Waldron, Minneapolis; and numerous nieces and nephews.
VISITATION:2 to 4 p.m. Sunday in Williams-Lobermeier Funeral Home. Burial will be at Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery, New Solum, Minn. In lieu of flowers, a trust fund is being established for her granddaughter.
