Leo Sinn, 87, Warren, MN, died on Sunday, March 13, 2005 at the Good Samaritan Center in Warren, MN.
Leo Sinn was born on October 31, 1917 in Sherburn, MN, the son of Louis & Mae (Stocker) Sinn. He moved to the Warren area as a child and he attended Farley School. Leo was inducted into the US Army on June 28, 1941 at Ft. Snelling and had basic training at Camp Polk, LA. He served with the 3rd Armored Division Headquarters Co. 703rd Tank Destroyer Battalion. Leo drove truck handling fuel and ammo. He landed on Normandy Beach on June 24, 1944. He served in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland and Ardennes. Leo was in the Battle of Bulge and got to within 60 miles of Berlin. He was discharged from Camp McCoy, WI on October 15, 1945. After his military service he returned to Warren where he farmed with his brother, Russell. He married Eunice Miller in 1963. She died in 1988. Leo married Agnes Conely in 1989. He retired from farming in 1991.
He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, Warren American Legion Post #27 and the VFW. Leo also served for 6 years on the S.W.C.D. Board.
Leo enjoyed cutting down huge trees. He liked to make beautiful grandfather clocks and enjoyed growing huge pumpkins and squash that he would share with grandchildren and friends.
Left to mourn his passing are his wife, Agnes, stepchildren; Diane (Richard) Abrahamson of Warren, MN, Roger (Patrice) Conely of Bemidji, MN, Tim (Linda) Conely of Warren, MN and Linda (Dave) Ulrich of Red Lake Falls, MN, ten step grandchildren, four step great-grandchildren, three brothers; Kenneth (Shirley) Sinn of Warren, MN, Ward (Barb) Sinn of Thief River Falls, MN and Russell Sinn of Warren, MN, two sisters; Darline (Ervin) Broten of Viking, MN and Yvonne Sinn of Golden Valley, MN and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Eunice, and an infant brother.
