Skaug, Marie Dybdahl (Hanson) (1862-1948)

Funeral services were conducted at the Newfolden Lutheran church Monday afternoon for Mrs. Marie Skaug, 85, who passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. E.N. Melvie in this city, on March 4. The services were conducted by Rev. Raaum of Newfolden, assisted by Rev. Ronholm and Rev. Lindblom of this city.

Mrs. Skaug was born in Vardal, Norway on June 2, 1862. She came to America in 1900 and was married the following year to Nels Skaug of Argyle, where they resided until 1903 when they moved to their farm near Newfolden.

Left to mourn her passing are two daughters, Mrs. Anna Christensen of Seattle, Wash., and Mrs. Judith Melvie of this city; a son, Clareng Lund of Newfolden; eight grandchildren; a sister, Oilane Engebretson and a brother, Andrew Hanson, of Newfolden.
