Charles Steer passed away on Apr 17, 2002 at his home in Brandt Township, Polk Co, MN at the age of 79.
Charles Steer was born on Dec 23, 1922 in Killarney, Manitoba, Canada, the son of Charles and Bessie (Ball) Steer. He moved with his family in the spring of 1924 to Brandt Township (rural Euclid, MN). He attended country school, Northwest School of Agriculture and Warren High School. On Jun 20, 1945 he was united in marriage to Ione Anderson in Warren, MN. They made their home in Brandt township where they farmed.
He was a member of the Euclid Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder fo many years until it closed in 1997 and he became a member of the Angus-Tabor Presbyterian Church. Charles served for 26 years on the Angus Co-Op Elevator board and served fr 45 years as clerk of Brandt Township. In his spare time he enjoyed woodworking but most of all he enjoyed being with his family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Left to mourn his passing are his wife, Ione and children, Marilyn (Gerald) Kuznia and Marlys (Craig) Halfman, both of Stephen, MN, Cheryl (Dean) Parvey of Grand Forks, ND, Chuck (Kathy) Steer of Angus, MN and Russell (Laurie) Steer of Euclid, MN. Also surviving are nineteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Amy Hoeper of Stephen, MN and Florence Rood of Crookston, MN and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents: son, William; infant son, Mark; infant granddaughter; two brothers, Jack and Henry and three sisters, Nola, Mary and an infant sister.
