Ione Steer, 85, of Euclid, MN passed away on Apr 1, 2011 at Riverview Hospital in Crookston, MN.
Ione Delores Anderson was born on Jul 11, 1925 in Warren, MN, the daughter of Carl and Ceciel (Yuergens) Anderson. She was raised in rural Warren where she attended country school. Ione also attended Warren High School. On Jun 20, 1945, she married Charles Steer. They made their home in Brandt Township where they farmed. Charles died on Apr 17, 2002. She moved to Warren in Sep of 2009.
She was a member of the Euclid Presbyterian Church until it closed in 1997 at which time she became a member of Angus-Tabor Presbyterian Church. Ione was an active member in both churches. She was also a member of Euclid American Legion Auxiliary and Homemaker’s Club.
Ione was a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She spent her life caring for others. She enjoyed baking, especially her chocolate chip cookies. Ione was a true farm wife who loved spending time with her family. Left to mourn her passing are her children, Marilyn (Gerald) Kuznia and Marlys (Craig) Halfmann, all of Stephen, MN, Cheryl Parvey (Fred Holter) of Grand Forks, ND, Chuck (Kathy) Steer of Angus, MN and Russell (Laurie) Steer of Euclid, MN; daughter-in-law, JoAnn Steer of Audubon, MN nineteen grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; siblings, Grace Gurry of Minneapolis, MN, William (Arlyce) Anderson and Shirley (Vernon) Roley all of Warren, MN and Carl (Laverne) Anderson of Stanchfield, MN and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles; son, William; infant son, Mark; infant granddaughter and sister, Colleen Anderson.
