Hjalmer Strandlund, a 40 year resident of Lincoln Township in Marshall County near Strandquist, passed away unexpectedly at his home Monday evening, August 15. He was 68 years of age.
Hjalmer Emil Strandlund, the son of the late John and Anna Strandlund, was born Oct. 14, 1908 at Grimly, Man., Canada. At the age of one year, he came with his parents to a farm in Lincoln Township of Marshall County, near Strandquist, where he attended school and grew to manhood. He was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith at the Eidsvold Lutheran Church in Halma.
He is survived by two brothers; Elof Rand, Grand Forks, ND, and Albin Strandlund, Karlstad; two sisters; Mrs. John (Nettie) Tykeson, Kennedy, and Mrs. Josephine Bergland, Grand Forks, ND; in addition to several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and one sister.
