Darold Sundby, 77, of Warren, MN, passed away on Tuesday morning, March 17, 2009 at Valley Eldercare in Grand Forks, ND.
Darold Sundby was born Jan. 30, 1932 in Stephen, MN, the son of Otto and Alma (Nelson) Sundby, one of 12 children. He was raised and attended school in rural Stephen. Darold served in the US Army from 1952- 1954 and was stationed in Korea. He married Fredryce Troska on Dec. 31, 1955. Darold worked for Scott Atwaters in Minneapolis, MN before moving to Warren where he worked for Wages Motor Supply from 1955 – 1975. In 1975, Darold and Stan Opheim opened D&S Auto Supply of Warren.
He was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church where he served on the church council, American Legion Post #27 where he was a past commander and the Warren VFW. Darold also was a member of the Warren Volunteer Ambulance for 11 years.
Darold loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Fredryce; three daughters, Darla (Rod) Myrfield of Warren, MN, Marla (Danny) Vasek of East Grand Forks, MN and Wanda Holter of Grand Forks, ND; eight grandchildren, Brandon, Jessica, Matthew, Danielle, Tiffany, Jennifer, Heather and Breanne; three great-grandchildren, Kenady, Brooklynn and Ryler; three brothers, Clarion Lindemoen of St. Paul, MN, Albert (Irene) Lindemoen of Grand Forks, ND, Jack (Sandy) Sundby of Pelican Rapids, MN; sister, Lolamae Beaudry of Argyle, MN and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one great-granddaughter; five brothers and three sisters.
