Luise Swanson-Jorgenson, 81, Warren, MN, died on Tuesday, March 15, 2005 at MeritCare Hospital in Fargo, ND.
Luise was born on June 24, 1923 in Germany where she received her education. Luise met Stanley Swanson during WWII and they were married on Aug. 1, 1948 in Weiden, Germany. She accepted the challenge to go to a new country and learn a new language and culture as they made their home in Warren. Luise worked at various businesses in Warren and also in food service at the Warren Hospital. Stanley died on Dec. 4, 1990. Luise married Loren Jorgenson on July 24, 1993 in Warren where they made their home. She became an adopted mother of six children and eleven grandchildren. Loren died on July 17, 2003.
She lived her Christian faith every day of her life. Luise was a member of the Evangelical Covenant Church where she participated in Bible study, quilting, women’s ministries and helping out wherever needed. She was also a 52 year member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
Luise enjoyed baking buns and making lefse. She started the exercise group at Summerfield Apartments. Luise was a caring person who enjoyed being with people.
Luise will be deeply missed by her family including a brother, sister and nieces in Germany, six stepchildren; Muriel (Dick) Nichols of Winston, OR, Marilyn (Glenn) LaBine of Grand Forks, ND, Lois (Bruce) Nelson of Fargo, ND, Phyllis (James) Anderson of Renton, WA, Beverly (Glenn) Rivard of Argyle, MN and Donald Jorgenson of Ridgeland, MS, eleven grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, two sister-in-laws; Lee Doris Youngward and Marjorie Merkel both of Minneapolis, MN, special niece and nephew, Karen Henry and Ronald Merkel both of Brooklyn Park, MN, several nieces and nephews and many close friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husbands, Stanley Swanson and Loren Jorgenson.
