The Ole Torgerson funeral rites were held last Thursday at 2:00 P.M. at the First Lutheran Church. Officiant was the Reverand M. R. Sucher of Warren.
Pallbearers at the service were four grandsons of the deceased: Ralph, Earl and Gordon Hvidsten of Stephen, James Rasmussen of Carroll, Iowa; and two nephews: Harry and William Kathman of Stephen. Musical numbers were two favorate hymns requested by the family: “I Know of A Sleep In Jesus’ Name” and “Still, Still With Thee,” sung by a women’s chorus. Organist was Mrs. Elmer Kroke.
Attending the last rites from a distance were: Mr. and Mrs. James Rasmussen of Carroll, Iowa; Mrs. Ted Aaker of Fort Bragg, California; Mrs. R. N. Brink of Sacramento, California; Mr. and Mrs. Carl Hvidsten of Fargo, N. Dak.; Mrs. F. Wickie, Mrs. J. Jenson, Mrs. R. Snustad, of Hallock; Miss Tilda Vigstol and Andrew Vigstol of Grand Forks, N. Dak.; Mr. and Mrs. Carl Torkelson, Mrs. Andrew Boen, of Strandquist; Mr. and Mrs. Ray Moen of Middle River; Floyd Anderson of Thief River Falls; Gordon Hvidsten of Moorhead, Minnesota.
Interment was in the Stephen Cemetery, following the church rites. Survivors include one son, Erling Torgerson of Stephen; four daughters: Mollie (Mrs. Alfred Hvidsten) and Agnes (Mrs. L. K. Rasmussen) of Stephen, Ida (Mrs. Ted Aaker) of Fort Bragg, Calif., and Gladys (Mrs. R. N. Brink) of Sacramento, Calif.; 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
