FINAL RITES HELD WEDNESDAY FOR SILAS TORGERSON
Final Rites were held Wednesday afternoon at Silver Creek Lutheran church for Silas Torgerson, 82, who passed away at the home of his son, Melvin Torgerson, in Agder township, on Saturday. Rev. T. C. Hanson of Moorhead officiated at the services and interment was made in Silver Creek cemetery.
Mr. Torgerson was born in Ontario, Wisc. on October 27, 1868 and later moved to Wheaton. In 1903 he moved to Thief River Falls and the following year he settled on a farm in Agder township. He was a member of Silver Creek church. He was married to Maria Stenerson February 13, 1896 in Wisconsin.
He is survived by two sons, Melvin and Carl of Agder township; two sisters Mrs. Julia Stenerson of Cashton, Wisc. and Mrs. Martha Wilgrub of Sparta, Wisc.; three brothers, Louis of Ontario, Wisc., Theodore of Madison, Wisc. and Oscar of Columbia, Mo.; and eleven grandchildren.
