Marjorie Vanek, 90, of Warren, MN, passed away on Saturday, December 18, 2010 at her home.
Marjorie Carolyn Stroble was born on September 1, 1920 to James and Lottie (Hummer) Stroble in Warren, MN. She attended school in Angus and Warren. After her schooling, she worked as a telephone operator in Angus and at Soderberg Appliance. Marjorie married Richard Vanek on September 22, 1942 in Warren, where they made their home. She also worked for the Warren Senior Citizens Club as a craft leader for several years. She was a member of St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church where she was part of the Altar Society, and she was also a member of the Farley Homemakers. Marjorie enjoyed quilting, gardening and sewing.
Left to mourn her passing are her children: Robert (Maridale) Vanek of Oklahoma City, OK; Gayle “Rick” Vanek of Oklahoma City, OK; and Julie Vanek of Warren, MN; daughter-in-law: Rith Vanek of Voss, ND; 6 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchcildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; parents; son, Richard; and nine brothers and sisters.
