Eleanor Westberg, 85, Warren, MN, passed away on Monday, June 14, 2005 at the Heritage Living Center in Park Rapids, MN.
Eleanor Katherine Engen was born on February 25, 1920 in Alvarado, MN, the daughter of John & Ellen (Johnson) Engen. She spent her early years in Alvarado. After completing her high school education, Eleanor went to teacher’s training school and taught country school for several years. On June 23, 1946, she was united in marriage to Wendell Westberg. They made their home in Warren. Eleanor worked at the Warren Elementary School and was a piano teacher. Wendell died on July 29, 1991.
She was an active member of the First Lutheran Church and it’s Ladies Aid.
Eleanor loved spending time with her family. She also enjoyed reading, traveling and quilting with her friends at the church.
Left to mourn her passing is a daughter, Bonnie (Lorin) James of Park Rapids, MN, two grandchildren; Tammy (Troy) Vanyo of Grand Forks, ND and Jeremy (Jaime) Woinarowicz of Warren, MN, four great-grandchildren; Ian, Kaden, Mason and Jackson, three step-grandchildren; Andrew, Samantha and Amber, one step-great-grandchild, Daunte and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two brothers, Emery and Stanley.
